This site will be a valuable source of information for you. The pages (on the left) relevant to your course will provide you with updates, news, deadlines, useful handouts, grade links, etc. You will also be able to communicate with your peers (and me) on the discussion pages. Use these discussion pages to find out information, to add to discussions and to ask questions of your peers! I encourage all of you to use these pages as a vital link to help you stay connected with each other, and of course, with me. Please note that although I will update homework information from time to time, your primary source of information for homework is the classroom!

The quotation below reflects a fundamental ideological belief of mine: that we all have the capacity to be fabulous, and the responsibility to develop our greatness, in order for others to do the same. Mediocrity breeds mediocrity, and excellence breeds excellence. I intend for my classroom to provide a forum for students to realize their potential, and to challenge themselves to enrich their lives as well as the lives of those around them. I am excited about the learning opportunities that lie in front of us, and I look forward to a wonderful year!
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
(Excerpt from Nelson Mandela's inaugural speech; quoting Marianne Williamson)

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION: If you want to request a letter of recommendation from me, please do so ASAP as my quota fills up quickly! Please note: you need to request a letter from me IN PERSON. Please do NOT simply e-mail me, have a parent e-mail me, or merely send me a request through Naviance. Also, once you have requested a letter in person, and I have agreed to write the letter, I will not have you on my list or begin writing the letter until I have received the information outlined in the link below, including a copy of your student survey from Naviance. I In addition, if you haven't requested me on Naviance (and spoken to me FIRST, in person), then I do not consider that I am writing a letter for you. Please ensure that you follow protocol and have turned in the requirements as outlined in the handout below: Thank you!
